Road Closure

From 08:00 on Monday, 27^th October 2025 to 18:00 on Friday, 31^st October 2025; or, until completion of the works within this period

 Fulwood, Lightfoot Lane will be closed to allow for essential utility works to be carried out

During the closure, Service 43 will divert by continuing along Garstang Road, then divert via Eastway, then continuing on Lightfoot Lane to resume route

Reverse Journey, Reverse Route

Bus stops on Lightfoot Lane (adj to Lightfoot Close, by Hazelmere Road, Belton Hill and Lansdown Hill) will not be served

Customers are advised to catch the bus at Garstang Road and Eastway

Hoyles Lane

Road Closure

From 07:00 on Monday, 27^th October 2025 to 17:00 on Friday, 31^th October 2025; or, until completion of the works within this period

Cottam, Hoyles Lane will be closed for completion of the S278 works

During the closure, Service 44 will divert from Tag Lane onto Tabley Lane, William Young Way, Edith Rigby Way, then onto Avice Pimblett Way to resume route

Return journey Reverse route

Bus stops on Hoyles Lane will not be served

Customers are advised to catch the bus on Tag Lane, William Young Way & Lea Road Turning Circle

Black Bull Lane

Road Closure

Between 08:00 and 18:00 from Friday, 24^th October 2025 to Tuesday, 11^th November 2025; or, until completion of the works within this period

Fulwood, Black Bull Lane will be closed for carriageway resurfacing works to be carried out During the works. 

Service 23 from Preston will then proceed along Plungington Road, then divert via Lytham Road, Garstang Road (A6), then onto Sharoe Green Lane to resume route 

Service 48 from Preston will proceed along proceed along Sharoe Green Lane, then divert onto Black Bull Lane, then onto Cadley Causeway to resume route

Return Journeys, Return Routes

Bus stops on Black Bull Lane, at The Plungington and Cadley Causeway, for Service 48 and the whole of Black Bull Lane for Service 23 will not be served

For Service 23, Customers are advised to catch the bus on Lytham Road and Garstang Road For Service 48, Customers are advised to catch the bus on Black Bull Lane, opp Boys Lane

We will be introducing some temporary timetables on some services between Monday 14th April and Thursday 17th April. The new timetables reflect the quieter traffic levels and reduced demand for services over the Easter half term period.

You may have noticed that there has been a lot of exciting things happening with Preston Bus recently. There have been a number of new vehicles introduced into the fleet, and our Deepdale Road bus Depot is undergoing a transformation.

With this in mind we have also reviewed our Network of services to ensure that our operation is relevant to the needs of our customers.

Following a successful consultation with our customers, we have endeavoured to use the feed back to finalise the changes.
