Rainford Walking Day 2026 Temporary All Day Road Closures

 On Saturday 20th June 2026 Rainford Walking Day with the following road closures will take place Church Road will be closed from its junction with Rookery Lane through to its junction with Ormskirk Road. Ormskirk Road will be closed from its junction with Church Road through to its junction with Lords Fold. 

Service 312

• From Ormskirk via Skelmersdale as normal to Rainford, Reeds Brow, to the News Lane Mini Roundabout and take then 2nd exit / right via News Lane, and Bushey Lane, to the Former Wheatsheaf Roundabout where this service terminates. (Not Rainford High School.)

Omits Hyde’s Brow and Higher Lane.

• Then Out of Service around the Former Wheatsheaf Roundabout.
• From the Bus Stop after Rainford, the Former Wheatsheaf Roundabout (Not Rainford High School.) then via Bushey Lane, News Lane to the Reeds Brow Mini Roundabout and take then 1^st exit left via Reeds Brow, and resume normal route to Ormskirk via Skelmersdale
• Omits via Higher Lane, Rookery Lane, Church Road, Ormskirk Road, Old Lane, and Hyde’s Brow.

Tulketh Brow

Road Closed

Tulketh Brow, Preston

Daily from 0900 hours until 1500 hours on Wednesday 1st July 2026 until Thursday 9th July 2026

Tulketh Brow, Preston from its junction with Tom Benson Way to its junction with Blackpool Road will be closed for surface dressing

We will be diverting via Blackpool Road – Garstang Road – Moor Lane – Fylde Street – Fylde Road – Tulketh Brow. reverse for return

Longsands Lane

Longsands Lane, Fulwood

Between 08:00 and 18:00 (daily) from Friday, 17^th April 2026 

Longsands Lane will be closed to allow Surface Dressing works to be carried out. As these works are weather dependent and work dates may vary, we are unable to provide further work dates at this stage

Signs will be displayed on the road prior to works commencing

During the works, Service 48 will divert onto Andertons Way and turn round at the roundabout to resume route

Return Journey, Return Route  

Bus stops on Longsands Way will not be served Customers can catch the bus at the temporary bus stop at Andertons Way (opp Anderton Arms)
