£1 Fare Cap Scheme 13/04/2026

At Preston Bus, we have been proud to support the £1 fare cap scheme and the benefits it has brought to our customers and the wider community working in partnership with Lancashire County Council.

However, we regret that we will be withdrawing from the scheme from 27 April 2026 on £1 fares across Evenings, Sundays and Bank Holidays.

While we recognise the positive impact the scheme has had, the agreed position involved LCC reimbursing up to the recognised single fare. LCC have decided to no longer do that. As operating costs continue to rise, this has made it increasingly difficult for us to sustainably remain within the scheme.

This change will apply only to our commercial services:
