Bus Travel Made Easy with 8 Different Ways to Pay


1. Cash

With 5 simple easy to remember fares of:
60p typical fare for journeys of less than ½ a mile (child fare 60p)
80p typical fare for journeys of up to 1 mile (child fare 60p)
£1.00 typical fare for journeys of up to 1.5 miles (child fare 60p)
£1.20 maximum fare for all but a few longer Orbit journeys (child fare 60p)

£1.40 maximum fare longer Orbit journeys (child fare 60p)

Please remember we use the fast farebox system to speed up your journey. The driver is not able to give change.


2. Saverstrips

These tickets give 10 trips for the price of nine £1.20 journeys. These new tickets will initially only be sold at our Bus Station and Depot offices. They cost £10.80 and enable the user to make 10 single £1.20 journeys on any of our services. (Sorry, they cannot be used on any services which are operated on contract to Lancashire County Council)

  • These give TEN £1.20 journeys for the price of NINE. Use anytime.
  • They save you money, your saverstrip can be passed around the family.
  • Flexable - with the exception of the P&R services the £1.20 Saverstrips can be used on any Preston Bus service.
  • No expiry date.
  • Each time the ticket is used the driver cancels one of the journeys.
  • Buy them from our office at the Bus Station (opposite bay 51) or from our depot Head Office at 221 Deepdale Road. Some employers also sell Saverstrips to their staff.
  • Special Saverstrip tickets are available for use on the Park & Ride service. These provide 10 return trips for the price of 9 returns and cost £22.50 for a ticket that can be used before 09:30 on Monday to Friday and £10.80 for travel at other times. The tickets are available from the Walton-le-Dale P&R office, the Bus Station Information office and our Depot at Deepdale Road.


3. Family Day Return Ticket

       Enabling up to 4 people travelling together to make 1 Return Trip for £4.00
       (on all services except for the P&R ones)

  • These allow for up to 4 people travelling together to make one return journey.
  • Saves the family money.
  • Simple easy return fare that is cheaper than a taxi.
  • Much easier than taking the car into the city centre.

Park & Ride Family return tickets are available from the bus driver at £5.00
for journeys before 09:30 on Mondays to Fridays and for £3.00 at any other times

       Giving One Days Unlimited Travel. Available from the driver for just £3.00

  • Reduced costs - you can save a substantial amount of money.
  • Longer term tickets save even more money.
  • Using Easiday Ramblers Tickets is much cheaper than running a car.
  • Unlimited travel on Preston Bus services including the Park & Ride services.
  • Sorry - No Student or Child Day Tickets available at the moment.
  • Adult users can take a child free after 0915 and all day on Weekends and Bank Holidays.

    Easy3 (3 month) Rambler Tickets

       Giving 7 Day, Monthly or Tri-Monthly Unlimited Travel

  • Reduced costs - you can save a substantial amount of money.
  • Longer term tickets save even more money.
  • Using Easiday Rambler Tickets is much cheaper than running a car.
  • Choice of tickets adult or child with special tickets for students.
  • With the exception of school services passes can be used on all of the Preston Bus services. Please see note below regarding the Park & Ride services regarding a supplementary charge before 09:30 on Monday to Fridays.
  • Adult users can take a child free after 0915 and all day Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays.
  • No need to carry change.
  • newEasiday, week, monthly and 3 monthly tickets can now be used on the Portway and the Walton-le-Dale Park & Ride services.   For any journeys made using the adult or student week, month or 3 month tickets before 09:30 on Mondays to Fridays a fare supplement of 50p is payable.
  • newEasiweek (7 day) adult tickets now available from your driver - easy to use and easy to buy.
  • Easy to buy - no photographs required for adult tickets.

6. Easypark Tickets
new

  • Two tickets are available. The £11.00 ticket gives 7 days unlimited travel on the two Park & Ride services as well as on any other Preston Bus service. For travel after 09:30 the price drops to £6.00 but it can only be used on the Park & Ride services. 
  • Customers who wish to travel after 09:30 on Mondays to Fridays or at any time on Saturday, Sunday or Bank Holidays but also want to use other Preston Bus services are advised to consider buying an Easiweek pass at £9.00 (see above for details).
  • Adult users can take a child free after 0915 and all day Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays.
  • No need to carry change.
  • Easipark tickets are available from your driver - easy to use and easy to buy

7. Routerider at £6 a week new

The new ticket gives unlimited travel on our Penwortham service* for just £6.00 over a period of 5 days.

The ticket is purchased from the driver on the day you want the ticket to start. While at the moment the new Penwortham service does not operate on a Sunday at £6.00 for unlimited travel on this service it gives good value for money and saves the need for change.

* While this ticket cannot be used on Preston Bus services operating within the actual City of Preston it can be used on our service 2 to Southport for journeys between the Bus Station and Penwortham Library. For customers who wish to use other services of ours as well as the new Penwortham service the Easiweek tickets are the ones to buy.


8. Nowcards (for those who are 60+ or disabled and live in England)

For those who are 60 or over and live in Preston you should be entitled to a Nowcard which is available from the Town Hall in Lancaster Road. This gives free travel after 0930 on Mondays to Fridays and at all times during the weekends or Bank Holidays.

For those who are disabled or 60+ and live in other parts of England free bus passes are available from your local Council Offices. These also give free travel on all of our services. Sorry no concessions yet for those who live in Scotland, Northern Ireland or Wales on bus services in Lancashire.

Easi Rambler Ticket Application Form

Also for students a special form is required that needs to be stamped by your tutor to confirm that
you are in full time education. University students can use their Student Union Card as proof.
