1 Fishergate Improvement Scheme 16th February - 12th November
Work on the second phase of the Fishergate Improvement Scheme began on Monday 16th February, and is expected to last until November.

Fishergate is now one way with the permanent removal of the right turn from Cannon Street, but with a new left turn put into place.

Guildhall Street, at the section next to Fishergate, will be temporarily closed to through traffic until this part of the work is finished.

These aspects of the scheme should not affect bus services. Please note though, THE BUS STOP OUTSIDE BOOTS IS TEMPORARILY OUT OF USE. Passengers are advised to use the last stop on LANCASTER ROAD, the stop outside GREENHALGH’S BAKERS (near NATWEST) or the RAILWAY STATION stop instead.

Apologies for any inconvenience, and thank you for your patience during this long term improvement scheme.

1 Ringway underpass waterproofing works 11th May - 8th August
Roadworks are scheduled on Ringway between North Road and Friargate. From Monday 11 May to Saturday 8 August, overnight and weekend lane closures will take place for essential maintenance.

Lancashire County Council is applying a waterproof layer to the underpass to prevent water damage to the bridge - this involves removing the road surface.

Weekday nights 20:00 - 06:00 there will be lane restrictions in place. For three weekends in May and June there will be a complete closure of one side of the carriageway between North Road and Friargate. Work on these weekends will be in progress 24 hours a day. During this time only one side of the carriageway will be in use and both directions reduced to one lane.

The weekends are:
Friday 29 May to Monday 1 June
Friday 5 June to Monday 8 June
Friday 19 June to Monday 22 June

Services affected will include Park & Ride 1, 31/31A, 23, 35, 44, Orbit 88A/88C, 89, 12/12A, 13/13A, 75, 80, 68.

We hope disruption during the day will be kept to a minimum, but there may be knock on effects felt on many services. Ringway bus stops may be out of service at different times during the progression of the works, but the stops will be marked at the time and we will update as we learn of changes. Delays to services are probable during evenings and weekends.

Apologies for any inconvenience suffered, and thank you for your patience

1 Kings Royal Hussars Freedom Parade 11th July
On Saturday 11th July there will be several major road closures in the city for the Kings Royal Hussars parade. These are likely to affect our services extensively, with diversions on some services and delays possible on all services. The road closures are:

Birley St & Jacson St 10:00 - 12:30

Church St (from junction with Lancaster Rd to junction with Fishergate) and Fishergate itself to junction with Lune St 10:30 - 12:30

Plus the main street closure which will affect ALL SERVICES EXITING THE BUS STATION:

Lancaster road from junction with Earl St to junction with Church St 09:30 - 12:30. Services usually using Lancaster Road will exit the bus station via Church Row, Church Street and Ringway where necessary.

Park & Ride - to Capitol Centre will use its normal stop on Ormskirk Road, and also Bay 37 on the bus station, exiting the bus station via Church Row, then left onto Church Street, normal route onto Grimshaw street and down to the Walton-le-Dale site.

Park & Ride - to Portway - normal route to Manchester Road, RIGHT onto Church street using the Church St bus stop (stand L), then Ringway, Corporation Street, and back on normal route at the railway station.

Fishergate services from the bus station (88C, 89, 75) will be diverted via Ringway and Corporation Street.

Services will revert to normal routes as soon as possible after roads are officially reopened. We will update should more information become known. Passengers usually using city centre bus stops on Lancaster Road or Fishergate are recommended to board at the bus station for the duration of the road closures.

Apologies for any inconvenience, and thank you for your patience.
