Northern DalesBus 830

Once again the Northern DalesBus 830 service will operate between Preston and Richmond (and Masham as the 859) each Sunday through the Summer and beyond, from May 19th to October 20th 2019.

Linking Preston and Lancaster with some of the most stunning landscape in the British Isles, the Northern DalesBus 830 travels through Ingleton, Ribblehead, Hawes and Reeth before it reaches the bustling town of Richmond, with its Norman castle, Georgian theatre, large cobbled market place and variety of shops, pubs and cafes.

Highlights of the trip include one of the most spectacular mountain passes in the British Isles - Buttertubs, of Tour de France and Tour de Yorkshire fame. The bus then travels along Swaledale, regarded by many as one of the most sublimely beautiful of all the Yorkshire Dales.

Children aged between five and 18 pay a £1.00 flat fare each single journey on the 830 and 859.

Special Dales Rover Tickets are available alongside single and day returns:

  • The £8.00 Dales Privilege Rover is available to Nowcard holders (there is no free fare entitlement on the Northern DalesBus), students with a valid NUS card or equivalent, and Railcard Holders (all types, including Dales Railcard and phone app versions).
  • The £18.00 Family Dales Freedom Rover entitles a family or group of five (maximum two adults and up to three children) to travel together for the day.
